Omar Tyree, New York Times bestselling author and 2001 NAACP Image Award recipient for Outstanding Literature in Fiction receives Best Fiction Writer Award from Memphis BWC President, Lawrence Wayne at Isaac Hayes Restaurant.

Phyllis Yvonne Stickney is greeted by Memphis BWC & Southern Film Festival President, Lawrence Wayne. Ms. Stickney is an accomplished stage performer, artist, designer, and community activist.

 

Phyllis was actually slated to be the first Host of Showtime at the world famous Apollo Theater. She was the first female to ever perform with The Last Poets. She and has received two AUDELCO Awards for Excellence in Black Theater. She was also the writer/Creative Consultant on the ABC short lived series New Attitude a Castle Rock production.
